SEDC provides a wide range of services to organizations in the private and civil society sectors as well as to Government ministries and agencies. Services provided include Needs Assessments, Baseline Surveys, Monitoring and Evaluation of Projects and Programs, Impact Assessments, Strategic Planning, Organizational Capacity Building, Training and Facilitation, and Development of Communication Materials, among others.

Services

Needs Assessments

We have a track record in conducting baseline surveys, formative research and situation analyses to help organizations refine project/program Theories of Change and design interventions that address the felt needs of their target group. We also competent in using a range of participatory approaches to assist organizations understand their operational context, identify needs and priorities, performance gaps and therefore design effective, relevant and sustainable strategies for addressing them.

Development of M&E Systems

SEDC supports organizations to develop monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks to enable them periodically track progress in the implementation of planned activities and undertake performance management. SEDC also supports organizations to develop essential MEL tools such as theories of change, logical frameworks, M&E plans, and other through participatory processes.

Impact evaluation

We have the reputation and experience in undertaking Endline evaluations to ascertain the effectiveness, impact and sustainability of interventions of a project, program or policy on individuals, groups, institutions and the environment. Our work helps individual projects and organizations as a whole to identify lessons, document good practices and build the capacities required to improve performance and promote sustainability and scale up.

Satisfaction Surveys

SEDC is experienced in undertaking customer/client/stakeholder satisfaction and feedback surveys to gauge whether organizational clients are satisfied or happy with the services they receive. SEDC has experience is using such methods and tools such as Likert scales, score cards and other tools to determine levels of beneficiary satisfaction.

Training and Facilitation

SEDC has experienced trainers and facilitators that support training activities in development work. We provide OD support to close performance gaps and manage for results, including planning and facilitation of staff retreats, workshops, stakeholder consultations, and other special forums.

Strategic Planning

SEDC has vast experience in designing Results-Oriented Sector Strategies and Country Programs - working with donors, governments and local stakeholders to develop results-oriented sector strategies and programs in health, education, water, and governance.

Knowledge translation

SEDC supports organizations to translate their research and practice evidence into policy and further practice. SEDC has experience in packaging evidence to suit the needs and contexts of various audiences through the use of appropriate formats such as policy briefs, briefing papers, evidence summaries, posters, conference papers, and publishable papers.

Communication for Development

SEDC has expertise in the development of information, education and communication materials. Through its behaviour change specialists, graphic designers and communication experts, SEDC supports organizations to develop materials such as brochures, stickers, posters, booklets, handbooks, flip charts, calendars, info-graphics and other materials for use to influence knowledge and behaviour change.

Research Labour

We have a large database of Research Assistants that can be employed on a contract basis as Interviewers/Enumerators, Supervisors and Quality Controllers to collect field data, supervise fieldwork and conduct post fieldwork data management including entry and cleaning of quantitative data as well as transcription of qualitative interviews and focus group discussions. All our Research Assistants are University Graduates with vast experience in conducting studies utilizing qualitative, quantitative and mixed methodologies. All our Research Assistants have completed The National Institutes of Health web-based training in Protection of Human Research Participants.
